Grammar

Concesie: „although”, „despite”, „in spite of”

„Although” se urmează de propoziție (subiect + verb). „Despite” și „in spite of” se urmează de substantiv, pronume sau gerund (-ing).

  • Although it was raining, we went out.
  • Despite the rain, we went out.
  • In spite of being tired, she finished the report.

Pasivul cu „it is said that…”

Structuri impersonale pentru a prezenta o opinie generală fără sursă personală. Foarte util la examene și articole.

  • It is said that exercise improves memory.
  • He is believed to be the best candidate.
  • It is widely accepted that climate change is real.
