Past Simple este timpul fundamental pentru a povesti ceva care s-a întâmplat și s-a încheiat. Învățăm verbe regulate și neregulate.

Grammar

Verbe regulate la Past Simple

Adăugăm „-ed” la sfârșit. Dacă verbul se termină în „e” adăugăm doar „-d”. Dacă se termină în consoană + y, devine „-ied”.

  • work → worked
  • live → lived
  • study → studied
  • play → played

Forma negativă și interogativă

Folosim AUXILIARUL „did” pentru ambele — iar verbul principal rămâne la INFINITIV (fără -ed).

  • I didn't go to work.
  • Did you see the film?
  • She didn't like it.
  • Where did you live?

To be — was / were

Excepție: verbul „to be” NU folosește „did”. Forme: I/he/she/it was; you/we/they were.

  • I was tired.
  • They were at home.
  • Was she happy?
  • We weren't ready.
